Mount Redfield was an ambitious hike from the LOJ via Avalanche Pass Trail and Lake Colden (18 miles round trip). There are of course, shorter trails to Redfield, but my hiking partner very-much liked the “scenic route.” In this case, it is literally a scenic route. There were beautiful views as we hiked along both Avalanche Lake and Lake Colden. The trail up Mount Redfield was unmarked but we followed it until it stopped at the peak! I posted a composite panoramic photo of the beautiful eastward view at Mount Redfield.
