Loved loved loved this trail! We hiked the carriage road up and the millbrook mountain trail down. Overall it took us 6 hours to hike with our 4 month old puppy, but that's because we took our time and enjoyed the view. The trail was relatively low traffic and we had the nose basically to ourselves for almost an hour. The trail wasn't that difficult sans for a few rock scrambles. You also basically hike down the center of a creek on the millbrook mountain trail so it's a tad wet and slippery there. The views were stunning and the rock formations just downright interesting. Highly recommend!
This hike was challenging and fun. The views are incredible. We thought we had reached the Nose several times before actually reaching it. There are so many "noses" it can be pretty confusing. The hike ended up taking us 6 hours but we really took our time, stopping to take pictures quite often and had lunch too. Highly recommended!
Great!! So beautiful views !! Well maintained and marked.
amazing trail. took about 3 hours to hike 8 miles with stopping and enjoying the scenery. would say this is a more moderate than hard hike
Great hike. The park workers say you need to start at 9am to finish by dark (I went 11.11.16) we started at 10am and finished at 2pm and did the entire trail. Granted we hike fast but if you don't crawl it can easily be accomplished within 5 hours. Awesome views!
it was amazing. amazing views the whole way. This is my favorite hike so far.
Amazing trail with one of a kind cliffs and rock outcroppings. Worth the effort
Challenging but nonetheless a fun beautiful trail. Love the markers that help keep you on the right path. Can't wait to go back!
challenging trail for beginners with amazing views. Trail markers are easy to spot to keep you on track.
Excellent hike, best time to go is during the fall! Insane view!
amazing views and challenging - did this as a loop with the Lake Minnewaska Carriageway, Millbrook Mtn Carriageway and the Millbrook Mtn Trail.
My sister and I did the longest walk here from the parking lot we went to lake awosting (black marks) then to castle point ( blue) then to Gertrude's nose( red) it take us 15 miles. Exhausting but totally worth it. Awesome views and cliffs
