Dater Mountain Loop Trail is a 2.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Sloatsburg, New York that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible from March until October.
I enjoyed this hike! It wasn't very strenuous and the views were nice. I did have a run in with some rattle snakes but other than that it was great!
It was an OK hike but not ideal if you are trying to feel immerse in Nature, Due to its proximity to main highways, the Road traffic was noticeable on many occasions. The off road parking was Ok for no more than 4 or 5 cars. There are a few nice unobstructed views of the surrounding areas within the loop, however most of them include urban settings and highways/roads. The main view is near an electric tower :(
