Good little scrambles from time to time. Nice day hike.

Have hiked a number of trails here on many occasions; all perfectly nice but nothing flashy.
There are many trails in this park, all well maintained. I added a link to the trail map below. I followed a loop trail recommended by "Best hikes Near NYC". You can find my route in the uploaded tracks section. It starts off at the parking lot at the southwest tip of Canopus Lake, follows white AT trail north, then blue, red, white (reaches Jordan Pond), yellow, red (cross the road), blue (reaches Hidden Lake), and finally back on white AT. The AT portions had some nice rock face and forest. The rest of the trails were just okay. Even though you climb a ridge top, there's really no panoramic view points since there are so many trees. The whole trail is nice, but nothing spectacular. Good as an easy workout, though. (UPDATE: Just found out the name of this trail is Fahnestock Circuit, it's one of the suggested hikes on the official state park trail map.)
This is a park with something for everyone. A beach for swimming, boat rental, organized bird watching, hiking for miles, even on the Appalachian trail, and a winter park to boot. Get there and do something!
Awesome day of hiking. Did the red trail up to Beaver Pond. Took blue back around to Jordan pond where there is a nice lookout over a cliff with a bench. Nice place to relax and have lunch. A few trails were watery/muddy but nothing too serious. Overall a nice place to take the dog, trails are narrow and easily maneuverable. Definitely going back soon.
A beautiful Local Late winter/spring hiking area. I have done 3 hikes in this part for a total of about 12 miles... I have not been disappointed yet. There were only 5 other people that we encountered all day!!! That is a great thing.
It is also dog friendly.
This was the first time I camped in a State Park, the grounds were nice but the amenities were not.
We went on a nice hike by Pelton Pond which was nice.
Good family camping. Nice hikes around ponds. Tends to crowd.
