Christman Sanctuary Trail is a 2.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Delanson, New York that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and trail running and is accessible from March until November.
beautiful creek, 30 ft waterfall, close to home, easy hike Christman Sanctuary is a nature preserve that protects part of the Bozen Kill creek. Along the creek there are a series of small waterfalls and cascades. From the parking area, follow the trail through the field to the sign-in register just inside the forest. Continue left on the trail with blue markers which will take you down to the creek. After about 1/2 mile, if the creek is low enough, you can cross and follow the Plantation Trail. It is best to follow this loop trail (marked with orange) in a clockwise direction. The blue trail continues along the creek to a T-intersection. Go straight ahead and then down some steps. You will soon reach the base of the 30 foot waterfall. This is a nice picnic spot with a lean-to. To return, retrace your steps to the T-intersection. Take a left and follow the trail back to the register.
Great peaceful local hike, views of the water falls are excellent, this hike can be done by almost anyone. Its a perfect location to test out snowshoeing as well because of the slight up and downs. I would also like to point out that this Sanctuary does not allow pets, meaning NO DOGS. As a pet owner myself I like to bring my dog hiking as much as possible but understand the reasoning behind not allowing pets, especially in a nature sanctuary.
love this area just beautiful so many falls and easy trails for kids and dogs
very easy hike. one of my favorites
pretty little hike, beautiful falls glad they saved it
Not marked very well
great trails and a nice hike
It's a nice, easy trail system that is peaceful and great for young kids.
This was a nice walk in the woods. It was SUPER easy. The waterfall was minimal but it was the middle of summer with little rain so I wasn't expecting much anyway. We ate lunch in the middle of the rocks where the waterfall should've been. It was a chill day.
Easy hike. Nice waterfall. Relaxing not exciting or challenging.
Went there with my daughter the other day after all the rain and it was amazing as always. Paths are well marked and there are many foot bridges along the way. I love the Christman Sanctuary for the hike and also some long exposure photography.
really nice hike, nice swimming hole, going again in the spring when there will be more water
