Leisurely ride around a lake.
Nice easy ride gravel wooded trails. Early fall day just a beauty. Restrooms open $8 entrance fee before 4pm. Wild life all over geese, swans, ducks and others. Enjoy
Easy, view of lake is very nice!! Have some exercise equipment and suggestions along way!
calm, family friendly location with many picnic areas and a nice lake. Paddle boats and a few kayaks are available for rent seasonally. Dogs permitted on leash on trails. Clean and groomed trails. A very easy stroll, less crowded in the morning hours. Good for biking as well!
Extremely easy; family friendly location.
❤️ super easy. Very relaxing stroll.
Beautiful trail so many things to do and long distance to walk, only downside is it being next to the southern state parkway
Relaxing, it's a nice walk around the lake. Gotta go around 3 times to get my steps in.
Great way trail but beware the single track ends with no warning and you have to turn around
Great nice scenic walk
I took a drive from Brooklyn, spend 2 hours in traffic while it was pouring rain hoping that it clears up and that the trail is worth it.
Well it was worth it, its nice scenery and trails are well maintained. After doing 2 loops I noticed a side trail and decided to get on it. It was a blast. I did it on a Saturday and it was not packed at all. The parking lot fee is $8 but you can park at residential streets and use one of many entrances.
I shot a short GoPro video. where you can see the trails https://youtu.be/PLBh84EYNSk
Had a great walk around the lake. Good traffic of runners, bike riders, walkers with dogs. Beautiful fall foliage around the lake. Pretty easy trail, very entertaining trail with beautiful swans in lake.
Good trail. Dogs allowed. Fee to park in Belmont Lake State park (free if you have NY state park pass for $65/year) . Boat rentals n lake are fun. Picnic areas, playground and restrooms. This place is packed on the weekends. You can actually ride a nice long trail to Babylon village from the lake. (or park for free by taking Deer Park Ave South from Sunrise Hwy and turn right on Park Ave. Park at the tennis courts.) The trail is very pretty, winding over streams and little bridges. You can walk the trail for a few miles through the woods, or just walk around the lake if you park in Belmont. If you park at the tennis courts in Babylon, you can take a short 20 minute walk up to Southards pond and then loop back to the parking lot. Lots of birds and swans here. The other option is biking the whole trail which I have done, either from Belmont lake down to the tennis courts on Park Ave, and back, or vice versa. I started at the tennis courts and rode up to Belmont Lake. The trail can be busy in the summer, and sometimes there are horses on the trail. Keep your dog leashed. Nice during the Fall- great fall foliage here.
This is a very easy flat trail that follows along the outside of the park, views during spring and fall are great with blooms and change in foliage, dog friendly park too.
Belmont Lake State Park is in North Babylon exit 37 off the Southern State Parkway. Not in Massapequa.
It's not in Wyandanch or Massapequa. It's in North Babylon and Babylon Village.
