Beehunter Trail is a 1.4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Salamanca, New York that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
This is a nice excursion for anyone who is staying in Allegany State Park for a picnic or camping. It has a trail that is easy to follow, and with no significant obstacles. This is a very family-friendly kind of trail. It is a typical walk through the forest, with no spectacular views to mention.
The more significant views in this area are near the trail head. Nearby Red House Lake is scenic and tranquil lake, although it can get pretty crowded during the summer.
For this hike, park at the lodge which is south of Red House Lake. Make sure to stop in the lodge to see some of the history of the region or get something to eat in the restaurant upstairs.
