This wasn't a bad hike to do. Since I was the first one out I had the luxury of breaking the trail until 2 groups caught with me and helped out the rest of the way. The groups were happy for part of the trail that I had broken for them. The groups caught up with me at the top of the slide. There was at least 6-8 inches of fresh snow on the trail that I forged through. The view from the boulders were nice but it was really windy up there. You could Cascade summit and Cascade Falls and Upper Cascade Lake. The way back down made for some nice easy butt sliding.
Did this in the winter during a blizzard so didn't get much views except of Cascade Falls across the highway part way up. It was really windy when I got to the boulders. There's some steep bits but overall it's a short and easy hike. When you get to the trail junction with the sign on the tree the way right goes to the boulders. If you go left you can extend your outing and climb the rest of the way up Pitchoff.
great views of cascade mt./lake. definitely more of a challenge than easy rating would imply (especially last 1/4) which was a rocky hand climb). would recommend but NOT with a dog again.
Awesome views. Definitely on the harder side of easy. Good for a dog but there are a couple places where mid sized dogs may need a boost. Not good for little kids.
awesome views for a short, less populated trail
