Arshamomaque Pond Preserve - Forest Trail is a 1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Southold, NY that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The Forest Trail at Arshamomaque Pond Preserve is less than a third mile and winds through woodlands dominated by oaks and hickories, but also includes birches, maples, and American beech. Arshamomaque Pond Preserve spans 53 acres of woodland and wetland habitats and abuts Arshamomaque Pond. The Forest Trail and Main Trail showcase Arshamomaque Pond Preserve's natural treasures, including woodlands, vernal ponds and views of Ashamomaque Pond. Combined with its narrow arm named Long Creek and its outlet to Southold Bay, Arshamomaque Pond is the largest of the North Fork's tidal ponds.

This trail is nice to just stretch your legs. Interesting to see the views of Arshamomaque Pond. Combined with its narrow western arm named Long Creek and its outlet to Southold Bay, Arshamomaque Pond is the largest of the North Fork's tidal ponds. The names Arshamomaque Pond, Mill Creek, as well as Hashamomuck Pond, are all used interchangeably today.
During the wet times of the spring and summer, the mosquitoes can get pretty annoying - bring repellant or a netted hat.
