Tent Rocks Canyon trail is 3 miles out and back hiking trail through a slot canyon with hoodos and striated rock formations. It is a religious site of the Cochiti Pueblo. The Slot has beautiful examples of rock strata, hoodos, the effects of wind and water. It's a nice climb-about 750 ft climb in about 3 miles. Going though tunnels, up ledges, They have railroad ties to make steps to get to the top, where you can see for miles. The loop for handicapped, samll children is nice, with soaring raptures and cliffs. There's almost something for everybody, except rock climbers and rock scramblers. Stay on the trail, as it is a sacred site.
A truly awesome experience! We loved this hike and would recommend it to anyone in better than moderate shape. Bring a camera!
Great hike! easy to start. Can be difficult as you get closer to the top. Plan on minimum 3 hours and for those of us that take pictures plan on 4. It's worth the struggle to get to the top. Don't give up!
This trail was awesome. A few spots were a little challenging but it was so beautiful, it was totally worth it!
Good fun hike. Occasionally crowded
Absolutely beautiful hike. Highly recommended!
Great hike. Great views. Climb is somewhat challenging but entirely worth it!
Just over 3 miles there and back. Beautiful scenery. Slot canyon. $5 per car entrance fee. A must do.
Moderate to hard for this Florida girl:) Beautiful "tent rock" formations. I've never seen anything like it! Also, & a gorgeous view from the top, if you take the slot canyon hike which goes up rather than the cave hike which is easier & more level. Sit there & take it all in....
Grate hike lots of people.lots of views form all angles.
Great scenery. Fun hike.
A lot of families and narrow trails make it hard to enjoy. PLAN TO GO EARLY
Mostly uncovered, this hike should be done very early unless one loves the heat. The section in the canyon and the view from the top are excellent
Gorgeous hike, lots of traffic but the rock formations are unbelievable!!
