Hiking to the top was awesome and absolutely breathtaking!!Ammie Koch2 months agoDoug Neidholdt2 months agohikingChaco historic sites has great trails, ruins very significant, great for whole family. Do the more remote hikes to really take advantage of the site.Sue Bucknell5 months agohikingNice walk through some very ancient ruins. Found some petroglyphs high up on one trail.Alejandro Wills8 months agoIndeed, the road to the site is not paved but not as bad as some reviews describe. I have been in roads that make this one look like a paved super highway. It is indeed worth the drive because the site itself is very interesting with ruins you do not often see. The hike is very nice and best on mild weather, I would not want to try it during summer.Vanessa McKnight2 years agohikingIt is an absolute MUST for people to visit this site, its a World Heritage Site, which as history would inform most of mankind essentially has ties to the area. Its wonderful! I wish that I had more time to explore and fully intend on another visit. Don't let the negative comments about the crummy road to the site discourage you (provided it is miserable washboard and takes about 30 minutes to drive 15 miles) Its important to remember to make the best, its been two years since I was there and my 4 year old still remembers the drive in and LOVES to watch the silly videos we made while driving to the siteAnthony Chavez3 years agomountain bikingThis is some of the crappiest road you will ever drive on. Washboard most of the way. By the way, resident.Mindy Prinster3 years agohikingThe drive in was some of the most relentless 15 miles of washboard. The park itself is paved and the trails are well maintained and marked. You can actually walk thru the ruins, they are amazing and should not be missed. We loved every minute!Carlos Abrille3 years agowalkingThis is another educational hike. The ancient society that built this place rivals the Aztecs. They're slowly restoring the architecture, that's going to take decades to accomplish. Interesting place to see the transformation and creation of Santa Fe Architecture. Bandelier is the other place worth visiting to compare both places and see the differences.Kenny Dillingham4 years agohikingNeat cultural site that is great for the whole family. There are several trails, some super easy and others take more effort or daring in spots. Todd Oliver5 years agohikingFanatastic trails. Great hiking. Really beautiful trails with great overlooks. I'd highly recommend. This is way way off the beaten path.
