Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is a 15 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Socorro, New Mexico. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking and mountain biking.
Great viewing place for birds in the main part and there are some other trails outside the main area that are great too (Chupadera Canyon for one). Main part is a dirt road but there are several dirt trails and outside the main viewing area there is a fun canyon called Chupadera Canyon that is worth a trip too. It is a moderate trail for most people. Easy if you are a big hiker.
I had a year pass when I lived near here. Great place to go multiple times as you'll always see something different!
more than a one day adventure, bird watcher dream all year round
Fantastic place to hike and view birds of all types. Great for kids too.
