Ancho Rapids Trail is a 7.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Los Alamos, New Mexico that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October.
This hike is a blast. The first part follows an old road and is very flat. After taking the cut off you descend into the canyon with a spectacular view,. Near the end the trail gets very faint so you need to follow the arroyo to the river. Very beautiful.
