Silver Mine, Waterfalls, Hemlock forest, springs and streams This loop is similar to my other Stokes Loop, except this one is shorter. This loop I do when I need to get out on a hike after work but dont have a lot of time. It is a great stress reliever. You pass two waterfalls an old silver mine, blooming Mt laurel. lush forest. The start is tough to find. The best way to get on the unmarked Stony Brook trail is to walk down the far end of the lot, away from the lake area. On the right corner there is a trail follow this along the brook. and then through the picnic area were you then pick up the Silver Mine Trail. Continue along the Silver Mine Trail until it branches away from the Brook. At this point follow the unmarked trail along the Stony Brook. Eventually the trail comes out to a barn and road. Take road to dead end. This is were you pick up the Blue Mt trail. Take Blue Mt trail to the orange Silver Mine. Then back to the start.

Fun hike. Easy for small children.

The hike is moderately easy and moderately interesting. The falls were nice, but in an area with as many as the Delaware Water Gap they're not impressive. I get excited when a trail includes an historical feature, but the silver mine is nothing more than a small gap in the rocks filled with stagnant water. At least there were some toads.

Great hike for beginners through a forest. Make sure to stop by the river and the old silver mine.

A nice trail that shows off all the best parts of Stokes. Some nice waterfalls and plenty of gorgeous scenery to take in. Not a hard hike at all.
