Manasquan Reservoir is a 5.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Howell, NJ that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from April until November.
Deer, turkeys, other wildlife while you run. Great spot.
Beautiful scenery and very well maintained
This trail is truly beautiful! It is pretty well-trafficked, but the path is quite wide giving plenty of space for all. Meanwhile, you are surrounded by lush green foliage and plenty of wildlife - prepare to see deer! - and you also get to catch a stunning view of the reservoir, especially at sunset. Great place to walk, run, ride a bike, or just catch a bench and read a book.
The 5 mile loop around the reservoir is great for a run or bike ride. I wouldn't consider it a true hiking trail. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends.
Great little trail for all ages and abilities. Its also surprisingly scenic and has its own secluded spots, even though it is in a highly populated area. Bald Eagle nests from time to time, deer commonly sighted off the trails., water snakes sunning on the rocks. All very cool to see! A lovely place to stretch your legs.
It can get crowded of course, so don't expect solitude. Part of the trail parallels a bus road, but it is a short section of the loop. Most of the loop is wooded or passes along the banks of the reservoir. Great place for the family. NOTE: there are a lot of leashed dogs here, so keep that in mind with little kiddos. Rarely are there problems, but just an FYI.
I love this trail because there's so much to do. I usually go bike riding for the full lap, then put my bike away and go for a jog with my dog, and then slow that down to a nice walk. I love the wildlife! I've gone canoeing here too but reservoirs bore me in that respect - still relaxing though!
Great ! Nice trails. Beautiful see a lot of wildlife! American bald eagles, deer , red fox turkeys, northern water snake
Fun place to take the kids for a walk. Nicely maintained. Beautiful in the fall.
this is a great place to walk with small children. it's wheelchair accessible too :) great for bird watching when it's quiet.
Not many trails to hike. The main section of this place seems to be the reservoir/lake. Though they do have canoe and boat rentals for $13 an hour. Which is a very relaxing activity!
It was awesome and I biked
Fine, not the most interesting trail but great for running.
I grew up going to the Manasquan Reservoir because its right near my house. I like to go there for a quick get away. The trail is very easy to walk and if you know the right places you can find a hide away. However, there are only a few different trails to choose from and only so many sceneries.
Love The MR, fish, hike, bike and Swim (swimmimg not allowed)
This is a great path for walking, running and biking. Trails consist of dirt, gravel and pavement. 5 miles around which can take 20-30 minutes on a bike. Mostly straight ad level paths, but there is a mix of hills every now and then. You will also find some paths off the main route for hiking. Geocaches can be found here as well.
