Very rocky. Technical in the sense of having to navigate slow, sinuous rocky sections. Didn't find much flow on south side. Best experienced with a group. Fun artifacts to explore.
Started out lame and became great. The western side by the airport was dull and colorless with lots of pointless switchbacks as we were not on bikes which these trails were clearly made for. Once we climbed the small mountain to join the eastern side, however, the hike immediately became more interesting with a large variation in surroundings, including some very odd abandoned rusted out mysterious structures. The trails on the ridge were still clearly made for mountain bikes, but even the rare biker that did struggle by added to the entertainment.
I did ride the trails in both directions. There are sections that are very technical, but such a fun to ride. Make sure you have a full suspension bike. A hard tail will shake your organs up. Plan on at least an hour and a half if you are a moderate rider. For more advanced riders, you can probably do it in an hour.
Jungle Habitat is surrounded be an Erie history straight out of Weird NJ. The left over animal cages & broken down buildings remind you of a place that was at one point a huge attraction. The hike is fun and easy but the visuals is what people go for the most. Really neat stuff.
