Been hiking and biking. Great views and it's kept very clean. Highly recommend .
Great trails/path and there is a restroom where we parked (Popamora Point)
Good small trail
This is a great trail. There are parts of the trail where you will have to ride on the road for a bit. Yesterday we rode from Lloyd road in Matawan to Atlantic Highlands and you stay on the trail and do not have to divert to a road. The bridge that was out is now in place. We wanted to take the Bayshore trail but this was closed. We did try and go up Ocean Ave. to get over to Sandy Hook, but the hills are rally steep. Total miles round trip was 25 miles. Had a great lunch by the dock in Atlantic Highlands.
Awesome trail! It's long, paved and has some beautiful scenery. The paved part is what does it for me. I cycle and I very much prefer a paved trail over crushed stones or any other surfaces. I did the section from Marlboro to Aberdeen round trip and I'm looking forward to complete the trail this spring/summer.
Rode this trail on a lovely rainy weekend for 15miles on 3/27/14. loved it and would love to revisit it on a dry day to complete the trail. One bridge was out about 7miles in but it was easy to get onto the road for a quick minute and back on to the trail. It's all paved/pitch with a few bumps in the road. Good for all types of bikes.
Good, relatively flat rail trail. One portion goes from Aberdeen Twp. to Highlands and there is a relatively new extension from Matawan to Freehold. Good for walking, and any kind of biking, not just mountain. Pretty scenery too!
I've biked, walked and Geocached north from Rt. 35 (Aberdeen/Keyport) to the HHT Activity Cntr. and south from Matawan (Church St) to Marlboro (Pleasant Valley Rd.). I still have to complete the portion south from Big Brook Park to Freehold.
Fun and easy. Lots of use during good weather. Some cool little bridges here and there. Watch out for broken glass in the lesser neighborhoods.
