cross country skiing
Nice trail. Several easily accessible outlooks over looking Bergen County. Only issue it that the trail crosses the road multiple times
This trail is not "easy" or "kid friendly". The trail is too vertical for kids. It's very steep and you go up and down a few times. The trail is also hard to follow and does NOT follow the GPS on the map.
Once you get into the wooded back area of the park it's gets really nice. The trails are a little hard to follow.
It was a very good workout to walk the trail, the view is very impressive and the ruins that you go by are very historical, I grew up in Paterson and never really explored the entire reservation, It brings back many fond memories and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to breath crisp air during this time of the year. The view is phenomenal of the NY Skyline and the Paterson basin and downtown area. The Lambert Castle is another historic building that can be visited as well.
great place to walk with the entire family, very dog friendly. if you walk around the trails you will see wildlife. if you walk the bike/pedestrian lane adjacent to the one way road that wraps around garrett it is a great workout too. there is an incline but it is easy to complete. you can make it more challenging by making your own route using the incline areas.
Best migration birding spot on the east coast go in May it is full of birds.
Just went today, I found the trails clean of any debris/garbage as others had complained of. Next time I will bring my dog, was sort of nervous after reading all the reviews, but again, I saw no problems. Just wish the trails were marked a little better, go confused and turned around sometimes.
Yes it's busy. Yes, there's some glass and garbage but growing up in Paterson it's all I had. This park is still very nice and offers some great views of Paterson and even NYC's skyline.
Great place to hike if you don't mind scattered garbage. Decent sized park in the middle of suburban area. LOTS of deer. Great view of NYC and other nice viewpoints. Lots of people. Trails are marked fairly well.
If you are looking for a populated hike on the beaten trail, this is it.
Good hike on the yellow trail with great views. Lots of trash and glass so be careful if you bring a dog.
Did these trails a million times over. Very nice hikes, just messy sometimes. Litter all around. Great views all around.
I went today and walked the yellow trail with my GF and boxer Dutch. Great views from the top I must say. Trail was tricky to follow at some points. Great area.
I love this place im born and raised in Paterson and came here alot and even took my son when he was much younger hes 25, i plan on taking my grandson, while your in the area travel to Paterson about 20 min or so away and check out the Great Falls off Main st and Front st, this has great views,
