This is a "Rail to Trail" project that will eventually be 15.6 miles from Barnegat to Lacey. Since it is an old rail bed, it is flat and wide.

Safe long trail. Brought my 8 yr old daughter and her bicycle. We did about 1/3 of the trail before we turned around and headed back.

I went to see the trestle which was part of the Toms' River Railroad. Beautiful scenery with boardwalks occasionally appearing to help hikers over the streams.

Very nice trail for walking, biking and running. When the trail is completed it will stretch from Barnegat to Toms River a total of 15 miles. Love bike riding here with my husband. Highly recommended.
