South branch is rocky and slippery when wet. Otherwise an enjoyable Fall hike. Stopped at lean-to on way back for lunch and nice lake view. We heard Loons but did not see them. Will bring binoculars not time.
Great easy trail for the family.
Rocky in spots. Good for the whole family.
Great loop trail for an easy hike or a hike with kids. Beautiful sights and a nice shelter. Was told the trail can get swampy when it has been raining.
I love this trail. Coming in from the logging road east of Intervale the trail with a loop around the lake is 3 miles. Last time I came up from the North Freyburg Maine side. This route is 6.5 miles with the lake loop. The southern shore of the lake gives beautiful views of Mount Baldy.
