Loved it! Beautiful trail. Make it a loop and it takes you by water falls and across scrambles
You must cross the brook to continue on this trail.
I ascended via the Jennings Peak Trail. This is a beautiful (relatively steep & rocky) trail with some scramble / climbing required.
Jennings Peak has excellent views.
I opted to extend this loop by including Sandwich Mountain. The trail to Sandwich is similar to the rest of Jennings Peak Trail. The summit has limited but very nice views to the north. This is a good place to eat a sandwich.
I backtracked from Sandwich and descended via Drakes Brook Trail. I found this route to be a gentle, gradual descent (relative to Jennings Peak Trail).
You must cross the brook to finish this trail.
Great hike! Highly recommend!
Nice hike, but steep in spots - spikes needed in mid-late spring. Great vista of east and north to Presidentials, just after you reach the ridge. Overall, not a challenging hike but one that will get you to the pub quickly.
What a great trail. Not being from the area I wanted to do a trail run, but there was no running this thing. Power hiked counter-clockwise and managed some running in the down hill. Amazing scenery. I'd do this again but would prepare for a hike, not a run. Still a great workout!
Great trail! A small stream is crossed early on and at the end of the hike, so be prepared. We went on a rainy day and the trail and stream made this a very moderate trail! The up side of the trail is very steep, but the vistas are outstanding! It took us just under 4 hours, and was a great time!
Great moderate trail. Plenty of views. Well marked. A few good scrambles!
