The Southern half of a Presidential Traverse. This is a gorgeous trail, but be prepared for winter storm conditions at any time!

Crawford Path will take you all the way from Rt 302 (Crawford Path Rd) at Crawford Notch (near AMC Highland Center) to Mount Washington via some of the Presidentials (Mt Pierce, Mt Eisenhower, Mt Monroe). I have done this trail twice, once in each direction, most recently from AMC's Lakes of the Clouds hut on the saddle between Mt Washington and Mt Monroe all the way down to the Highland Center. There is a slight detour off the main path to get to AMC's Mizpah Springs hut in between if you like. This is mainly (except for the last couple miles nearest the road) an above-the-tree-line, ridgeline trail that is part of the AT and the Presidentials traverse. It also happens to be the oldest continuously used and maintained mountain trail in the US, dating back to the early 1800s. It is rocky in places, but relative to much of the hiking in the White Mountains the trails are very manageable and well graded. The views above the tree line, weather permitting, are fantastic. Just don't be on the ridge in lightning or winter storms. Great trail.

The trail was excellent. It was a gradual ascent, leveling off in some places. We took this trail up to Mount Pierce. Beautiful views of the Presidential Range. It was very windy up top but clear skies. My 14 year old son climbed with no problem. I would take this trail again.

Beautiful hike- not sure why Alltrails says there is no trail here- the path connects to paths up to Mt Jackson and along the ridge to Mt Webster to make an 8 mile loop with great views.
