This short trail leads off the main loop to a small cove of a much larger cedar swamp, full of Atlantic white cedar and red maple, along with giant rhododendron and winterberry. This Preserve is managed by The Nature Conservancy in New Hampshire, and is an excellent place for walking, hunting, observing wildlife, and skiing. Camping, fires, pets, or wheeled vehicles are not permitted on the preserve. For a trail map and more information, visit: www.nature.org/manchestercedarswamp

Beautiful cedar trees about halfway into the hike. Some of the Red Cedars are quite large at
60 -100ft.
A good hike with a few small hills that allowed me to exert some energy and get little exercise on a wet and soggy afternoon when otherwise, would have kept me indoors. But one other thing that made this an appealing jaunt is the fact that it is practically in our backyards. Being just off of 293N and Hackethill Rd. on the Hooksette / Manchester border, it's only minutes away from the city.
There aren't any scenic views to speak of from the hike however, it is quite peaceful. With lots of birds and wildlife abound ;a small stream winds through and trails that bring you over them, there is a steady quiet that exists here.
Thank you.
