Basin Rim Trail is a 7.1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Intervale, New Hampshire that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October.
The Basin Rim trail runs from Mount Meader along the edge of the cliffs overlooking Basin Pond to the summit of West Royce, then down to meet up with other trails in the saddle between East and West Royce.
The footing is good and the trail is relatively easy along the ridge, with the only steep section on the switch backs just east of West Royce.
Much of the hike is on the top of the ridge, giving a nice airy feeling of being high up, yet still sheltered in the trees
Good views to the south and east from several spots along the rim.
