The Big "E" is a 3.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Spring Creek, NV that offers scenic views and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
The big "E" which you can see in Elko City in Nevada. The big "E" is actually at Spring Creek mountains.
The hills going up to the big "E" is typical with low shrubs and small trees. It's actually tricky to find the big "E" because it's not visible on any of the dirt road accessible to go there. You can create a cross country trail and walk straight up to the Big "E" if you really wanted to; would be the easiest way, but the problem you'll run into is where to park your vehicle. The best way is to take the only dirt road that goes up there. You can actually drive all way up there but I'm not positive what kind of trouble that would be if anybody ever did that. There's a lot of parking areas along that dirt road where you see where everybody park who goes walking around there. Before going there, it's important to really study Google Earth and plan a route so you'll know exactly which dirt road to go on to find that place. You'll be surprised when you see how it was constructed.
