Ruby Lakes is a 11 mile out and back trail located near Spring Creek, NV and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from July until August.
It's one of those trails that are not very specific as to which lake this is at Ruby Mountains. After studying the photograph is looks like one of the Dollar Lakes. I've hiked this trail probably two years ago. Hiking up to the Dollar Lakes is the best trail at Lamoille Canyon. The rest of the trail after Dollar Lakes becomes typical and not as interesting if you really compare the route to Dollar Lakes and those trails pass the Dollar Lakes. If you've hiked up to Favre Lake, you can really see the beauty of the trail from the end of Lamoille Canyon Road up to Dollar Lakes. After Dollar Lakes the trail becomes rockier and of course higher elevation where you'll get the best panoramic views of the mountains and valleys. As far as the trail goes it won't be as pretty or shady. Its what makes the trail up to the Dollar Lakes the best?
