Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive is a 12.2 mile heavily trafficked point-to-point trail located near Las Vegas, NV that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
One of the trails in Las Vegas, open all year to all skill level.
Great trip for families and people that prefer to have easy trails to walk. great views to capture.
Just love the area. Hiking and exploring away from the city. Great place to relax
I have driven this route a couple of times, and hiked around the area. Each time hoping to see some wild burros, or horses......no luck, but still a nice trail near Vegas. Who knew?
drive slow and enjoy
was so hot out. my water melted inside my jug... very nice views.
love this loop trail! the views are amazing.
I was looking to do a hike on the White Rock loop trail. I was not aware this was a 13 mile one way road through the park. Made for a nice drive in and out.
Can't get much better if your looking for a drive in a nice place.
We took the scenic dive due to the weather. A storm was coming and they expected flash flooding. The area was beautiful. Going to go back in the fall to some hiking here
There is a $7.00 dollar entrance fee. For $30.00 you can get an annual pass. This drive had numerous turn outs, trail heads, rest stops and picnic areas.
When I paid the fee, I got a map of the drive that listed all trail heads, facilities and services. Take some time to read it and familiarize yourself with the drive ahead. The best place to pause and plan is right at the Visitor Center parking lot.
The parking lot has restrooms, water fountains (with a filtered water dispenser for canteens and water bottles) and vending machines.
I have been on this drive several times and have enjoyed the Visitor Center.
The Visitor Center has a wealth of information on all trails, wild life, history and will help you get the most out of hiking the area. There is an indoor portion with an awesome little shop and today, there were displays of flora and fauna with knowledgeable people manning them. There is extensive outdoor displays with look outs explaining the trails and providing more information on plant and wild life: there was even an active tortoise habitat.
When driving, it is easy to get distracted by the extreme vistas; drive carefully but if you are driving below the speed limit keep to the right or pull over so others can safely pass.
WATCH FOR BIKERS, RUNNERS AND HIKERS (and wild life) and have fun!
Beautiful Drive... Would definitely make a day of it & include some hiking. Plentiful trails along the way...will go back again soon.
I was getting ready to run the Twilight Ascent Half Marathon and wanted to see what I was getting into. I'm so glad I drove out during daylight hours to see the beautiful red sandstone. The roads were quite busy as the day was absolutely beautiful and it was also a free day (no admission). The run was after dark and Refrigerator Canyon was COLD. I would love to head back out some time and do some hiking.
