Lone Mountain Loop Trail is a 3.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Las Vegas, NV that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
A nice wide trail around Lone Mountain with a side trip up to the top of the mountain and back down. The hike up the mountain is fairly steep and challenging. It will definitely get your heart pumping.
My camel back broke, didn't get a chance to complete. Do it early in the morning.
Parked at the Lone Mountain Discovery Park off Jensen Drive by the horse stables and walked the loop which turned out to be a little over 2 miles. Found the trail leading up to the top on the back side from where we started so we will be going back to complete the hike to the top. Best to park in the lot off Vegas Vista Drive if you are going to take the hike to the top - trailhead is right there.
Hike to the top is a little over 1 mile roundtrip- also, this will depend if you go all the way up to the right.
Nice hike with scenic views of Vegas. Not too difficult for beginners with some challenging segments to get your heart pumping. Recommend early morning or late afternoon for this hike to avoid the heat.
This is a great hike with a beautiful scenery.
Never went around the loop, always hiked up to the top of the mountain. Great views of the city.
The 2 mile trail around base of Lone mountain was like a level walk in park. The mile or so to the summit & back was more challenging with steep inclines, loose rock, etc. Overall it's a great way to spend a couple of hours & great view of entire LV valley.
Great trail, I am beginner and enjoyed it. They say 3.3 miles but I think its more like 2 miles.
I run the loop all the time, but this was my first time hiking to the summit. It's more challenging than I expected, but nothing crazy or anything a new hiker couldn't handle. There are plenty of places to stop and enjoy the views along the way
Love this trail; beautiful views and not very busy.
we love this summit. my boys, 5&7, really enjoy it too. 2x in 1month enjoy it.
Really cool hike with a beautiful view of the valley. Giant lizards to see and not too busy. Wouldn't recommend it for kids under 5.
The trail around the mountain is really nice. They have recently cleaned up the trail and they build a huge horse park next to it. The trail is not 3.3 miles. It's maybe 2.5 miles around. The hike up the mountain is pretty easy. I saw little kids and people with their pets.
Great easy trail.
