Kid friendly to an extent...very rocky. We have done 2 of the loops with a 4 and 6 year old. Very pretty and good view of various parts of the city. Nice facility to have a picnic after.

Easy walk although trails somewhat rocky. Nice views especially at the top of the bigger hill.

Nice relaxing walk. It's not very difficult but there can be a few points where the terrain gets a bit steep but the rocks help with footing. The view was amazing though, the endless fields were awesome!

The first trail we completed with out family of 3 boys, aged 2, 4 and 6. It was short and simple enough for them to tackle, also with some great views. I uploaded some photos of our two hikes there in January 2014.

Don't follow the All Trails map because it sent us to private property- no trespassing.

Nice wild flowers and rocky paths. No shady trees though, make sure you wear sunscreen.

Don't follow the all trails map. The trailhead is on Alexander Lake Rd, not Rio Pico. Fun place with lots of paths

The most challenging trail is directly across the road from the newly paved parking lot. Hike to the top of Rattlesnake mountain for the best views within the Reno Valley. www.lifetrekker.org

Trails are nice if you don't want a long hike. There isn't any shade and it gets really hot out there later in the day-also need to watch out for rattle snakes along the trail. They do have some educational panels along the different loops which might be fun for kids.
