Schwer Park Trail is a 1.9 mile loop trail located near Papillion, NE that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Located at 702 West Centennial Road, Schwer Park is home to a 7-acre fishing lake and the very popular Splash Pad. A walking trail around the lake, full service restrooms, playground area, and a large pavilion make this park a fun place for all members of the family.
There are two separate loops at Schwer Park: a smaller loop that only goes around the water and a larger loop that includes the neighborhood to the east. If you do one loop after the other, it will be about 2.2 miles (granted you will do a small portion twice). I went early in the morning and there were only two people walking the trail.
After completing two passes of Schwer Park, I went west on a connecting trail to get on the West Papio Trail (headed south) and then hooked up with the Walnut Creek Recreation Area Trail. One thing I like about the Omaha trails is that a lot of them connect to each other and you can keep going and going for quite a while. After circling Walnut Creek Lake, I headed back to Schwer Park. The total ride was 12.5 miles and it took about an hour.
