The Loop trail weaves its way along the levy of the Papillion Creek south of Highway 370 and parallels Highway 73/75. The terrain slopes gently toward the south and is sparsely populated. The adjacent properties are mostly undeveloped agricultural parcels and the scenery is rural in nature. Downsides: The scenery is great if you like the prairie No restrooms or drink stops until you get to the park Upsides: Wide open, fast and flat Nice view of the creek for the entire ride. The Missouri River is a point of interest Haworth Park has a wide range of activities including camping, playground, softball, and a marina.
I started the trail at Capehart Road/US-75, went south and east, and ended at Haworth Park (by the river). This particular part of the trail was ten miles and took about forty minutes to complete. The afternoon was cloudless and 101 degrees and the paved sidewalk was nice all the way around. There were nice views of planes taking off from Offutt AFB and of corn fields. It was generally pleasant and I will definitely do it again when the temperature is more reasonable. =)
