We started from Larch Hill Pass and came down the valley along the White River. Great fishing, but very loose river banks, so be careful.
The views coming down are gorgeous, and you get several good looks at Needle Falls. Although, getting to the waterfall is very difficult and not recommended. Lots of places to camp above and below the falls. A big outfitter camp is at the junction of the White River pass and the White River.

The trails are (were in 2013) in pretty good condition. Not much dead fall.
