Ward Mountain Trail is a 8.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Hamilton, Montana that offers scenic views and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October.
It was great but mileage on here is wrong. It is 6.3 to the top so about 12.6 round trip. Took us just under 8 hours to go to the top and back. Awesome view, one of our favorite and looks down on our property. Probably should be rated hard.
This is a long, hard, often steep trail, but the views from the top are incredible. I went in the fall and found plenty of huckleberries to snack on along the way.
