Triple Tree Trail is a 4.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Bozeman, Montana that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from May until October.
Great trail running trail, the mud was significant on some sections of the trail though.
This was an amazing hike!! My husband and I went with our two boys (3 yrs and 8 mo.) and our dog. it was not too difficult in most places, and there was a ton of shade. It was really beautiful!!! if you start in the lower lot it is about 5.5 miles, but there is a second lot a bit further up. I'm glad we did the first part, it was a good, easy, mostly flat warm up and cool down! It was really just the perfect distance, grade, cover, and the view from the top was beautiful!!! Very nice for a relaxing little hike with the family!!!
Great trail. Took kids ages 4-11 and they all made it fine, albeit with more than a few breaks. Took us awhile. Beautiful view of Bozeman from the top.
This is a beautiful, three-hour hike. Be advised that I t's a bit more strenuous than the "Easy" rating, however. The views along the trail a various, as are the foliage and wildlife. And the view from the top of Bozeman, the patchwork farmland, and the surrounding mountains is spectacular.
Not too rough, trail is very well maintained. Go early and you'll get wonderful views of wildflowers. Watch for mountain bikers in the narrow areas of the trail.
Easy hike, in fact a good trail to run. Easy trailhead to find and a great view of the city from the top. Best to go in the spring due to the wild flowers.
Wasn't easy but challenging. We hiked it with our 6 yr old in about 2.5 hours. Uphill half the time. Great views!
Really enjoyed this trail during my time in bozeman, mt. It went from meadow area to, lowlands and forest. Beautiful fall golden aspens. Great scenery. The summit is a spectacular view of the Gallatin valley.
Great habitats for birding, wildflowers, and wildlife. See my June 12th birding report for this trail: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S23881316
Nice trail. Yes, the early part is near the houses.... but it doesn't take you long at all to get into the trees and away from civilization. Couple spots with a good incline, but most of it is pretty gradual.
Great trail for anyone. The views of Bozeman and surrounding area are quite spectacular.
This is a great out and back w/ loop at the end. The views of Gallatin valley are quite spectacular. Don't let the first part of the trail turn you off (lots of McMansions in Triple Tree community), once you are in the trees, you'll forget how close you are to town. The trail will be undergoing maintenance soonish (summer 2014 I think) to make part of the loop not quite so steep. Enjoy the workout!
A nice hike that can be done during the summer or winter. Great views once at the top. I have 2 Aussies and the stream that follows the trail for part of the time is a nice cool off spot for them.
Anyone who says this hike is too close to the houses must have turned around pretty early. After the first mile you find yourself in a lush forested area that gradually climbs to the summit. The last stretch is pretty steep, but once you reach the spectacular view at the top it's all worthwhile. I would definitely recommend it.
Too close to the houses!
