Awesome! Definitely worth time
Viewed with family. Kids loved it
Yes, I did the caverns in December - when they are normally not open to the public. Each year in December, for limited dates and times, you can purchase special Candlelight Tours. What an amazing introduction to the Caverns. I've been back in summer months too. There are numerous trails in addition to doing just the cavern tour and I thoroughly enjoyed both.
Very cool place to check out. Definitely want to be in relatively good shape though, as it requires alot of stooping, bending, and climbing that could be rough for someone with knee or back problems. The caverns have a ton of beautiful limestone columns, stalagmites, stalagtites etc. The tour guides have always been friendly and informative, and are great about telling stories and answering any questions. Keep an eye out for the bats that frequent the cave.
Lewis and Clark Caverns is an excellent cave tour. Really cool formations! Quite a few stairs, and lots of bending and stooping to get through the cave
