Gibson Reservoir is a 5.7 mile out and back trail located near Choteau, Montana that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from July until September.
I went into the Bob this way back in April where it snowed on our day and was sunny on our day out. Lots of wildlife is seen such as bald eagles, elk, and mountain sheep. Really easy hike too, mostly flat with some slopes.
This is the reservoir trail to get into the Bob marshall.. its long, no wait... Never ending... hot and dusty! Get ready to be run over by pack trains. Paradise is just beyond. I recommend kayaking and hiking from the end. We did 42 miles. 3 nights. Memorable trip but the reservoir is the worst part. Enjoy!
