Cabin Creek is a 17.4 mile point-to-point trail located near Augusta, MT and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from July until September.
Massive amount of downed trees from the fire in 1988 make this trail a pain. Trail maintenance had not been thru the area and I would say there were about 10-20 trees per mile for about 5 miles. Some you went under, some over and some you had to cut.
However, the scenery is fantastic lookin at the south palisades of the scapegoat range. The trail sign from dry creek to cabin creek was downed and on the ground. We passed the trailhead 3 times before we spotted it.
