The Savannah Ridge trail is a narrow single track that winds along a ridge overlooking the east side of Spring Hollow and through an open woodland known as a savanna. These open woodlands and glades are peppered with wildflowers during spring and fall. Part of the trail was originally old roads, used by people living in the area from the 1840"s, and now is a hard-packed gravel and grass surface, barely identifiable as an old road system. Other sections are single track and rocky in some places. The extended trail is narrow and winds through an open woodland formerly known as a savanna. White Connector 1 divides the larger loop in the middle to allow for a shorter two-mile loop. The area is occasionally burned to enhance the complex of open woodlands. The eastern side of this trail is combined with Natural Tunnel Trail.

Nice hike with good scenery, not real well marked and there are a number of other trails that intersect. Nonetheless not long enough to get to lost.

Did the trail in the spring and caught a good show of spring woodland wild flowers. Trail was easy and pleasant. Typical for the ozarks, but the Savannah was nicer than most. Burn Management by the park service is doing a good job in maintaining the Savannah. ***You must do the adjacent Natural Tunnel trail, the natural tunnel makes the longer trail worth it.***
