This is best done in late spring for best wild flower blooming. Priaries are distinct in their beauty. They are anything but just a cow pasture when you take a closer look. Priaire State Park has a buffalo herd, a nice visitor center, primitive camping and enough expanse to get the feel of prairies from yesteryear. Don't avoid the prairies or view them as mundane. You are denying yourself a unique experience.
