Several put in locations available, allowing you to run the full lenght or enjoy a short day of it. The northern most part is just south of Cabool, MO. Take Hwy 63-60 south out of Cabool to hwy 76, go west to the old mill Topaz and put in at the low water bridge.
river perfect but beware if you own personal equipment the private campgrounds and canoe outfitters will refuse your business and try to make your life rough
I have floated here many times. Go in the winter. Summer months are crowded there are a lot of canoe outfitters here. They can help you plan your trip.
River has best class I & II water in the state. primitive camping allowed but sand bars and beaches are far and few between. Camp early or you might get caught canoeing after dark.
This is by far my favorite missouri river! very clean! no portaging necessarry! just a great trip! lots of springs! lots of wildlife! low traffic!
