Honey Run is a 12.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Linn Creek, Missouri that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and mountain biking and is accessible from February until December.
This is a lollipop trail with a north and south loop. The trail is approximately 12 miles if you complete the entire trail from the trailhead that is on McCubbins road.
Never busy, flat but rocky in spots. Has some short climbs that aren't too steep. Nice trail system, you can go 3 different ways. There's a parking lot off Anderson hollow rd, from there you can take a west loop or east loop, or a trail going to the parking lot off of mccubbins rd. Lots to explore if you're in the area.
Location: I'm from out of state and was a little confused finding the trail. It is on the left about 2.3 miles down mccubbins Rd. There is just a hiking sign on the side of the road. The trail system is great! Somewhat rocky, easy to follow, only small hills.
SUPER fun trail ...its a little rocky but easy trail for the most part...no major climbs or down hills. Bring the deep woods OFF. you will love this trail it is surrounded by state park, very secluded. I ride Swope park in KC regularly and this trail is one of my favorites. no big jumps or drop offs (too bad). Overall I would rate this as a fun beginners trail :-)
This is a good sized trail for a day of riding. The trail is well maintained with not a lot of traffic. The trail is uneventful with the exception of a couple of jump opportunities if you make it happen. Other than that there are flowy climbs and descents with low difficulty. I would recommend this trail to anyone that is looking for a good workout, but not if you are looking to challenge yourself.
