Hidden Springs Trail is a 2.5 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Brumley, Missouri that features a river. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking, trail running, camping, and horses. Horses are also able to use this trail.
This 2.5 mile loop trail goes through native Missouri woodlands to bluff tops above the lake and back through drainages to its origin. The trail also passes near a small family cemetery. The spring and fall seasons are best for spring flowering dogwoods and redbuds and fall leave color.
Nice trail with good views. The only downside was that there were large rocks on the trail (which is to be expected in November), but you can't see them because of the amount of leaves. I rolled my ankle a few times, but luckily didn't sprain anything.
So beautiful. A must, trail.
We did this very easy hike Nov 2015. The overlooks to the lake were beautiful. We also found ourselves less than ten feet away from five large buzzards/vultures/not really sure. They were beautiful, not what one would imagine when confronted with scavenger birds. The trail was, obviously since it was fall, covered in a thick carpet of leaves. There was also copious amounts of horse poo. Walk carefully. Overall, a fun, easy hike for a brisk fall day.
We did the trail during a trail ride in the spring. It was a pleasant and typical Ozark trail through timber, small dry weather creeks and along some hill tops. Over to quick.
