The Braille Trail is a one mile asphalt paved handicap accessible loop trail taking you through huge granite boulders and an overlook of an old quarry. The hike is an easy one, but it was well worth the 3 hour drive. The view, amazing, and playing on the rocks is the best! The trail is wheelchair accessible, but may tire you out if not careful. The trail named Braille Trail, circles around the rocks, and is especially designed for people with visual and physical disabilities, and was the first of its kind in Missouri. The rocks formed about 1.5 billion years ago from magma, forming the red granite "elephants". So named because the rocks stand end-to-end like a herd of circus elephants. The largest of the rocks, Dumbo, stands 27 feet tall, 35 feet long and 17 feet wide. At a weight of 162 pounds per cubic foot, Dumbo weighs in a 680 tons!

Very easy trail with great scenery. It was a lot of fun to play around on the rocks as well. It's an awesome choice for families, I went there all of the time when I was a kid!

This place is a lot of fun. Hiking is pretty easy and there are a lot of paved trails. There are a lot of places you can go exploring off the path though. Climbing around on the rocks is a blast and there are a lot of neat things to look at.

Really liked this area. Like some others have said it truly is a place where it is as fun as you make it. I went with a small group of people and we all had a great time. We spent a little time on the trail but most of our time was spent hiking through the granite rocks in the park. We particularly enjoyed squeezing though some of the tight nooks and crevices. This is also a great place to work on developing grip strength for rock climbing. Plenty of cracks in the rocks to work on different climbing holds and plenty of spots to chimney climb. Overall, great place to spent a couple hours of your day.

Had a great time. We stayed away from the main trail and climbed the rocks. We jumped and climbed all over. It's as fun as you want to make it and hard as you wanna go.
We go back at least once a month.

Nice and easy paved trail. Good for families as it is short and has a lot of keep the kids interested. Can get a bit crowded and the park doesn't open until 8:00 AM. The giant rock "elephants" are quite impressive. There is also a side spur that leads to an old granite structure that was part of the railroad and quarry at the site. The trail also leads up to a nice overlook and runs alongside the pretty quarry lake.
