2-mile roundtrip at scenic Sardis Lake leading over wooden boardwalk through a cypress/Tupelo gum bottomland swamp; diverse wildlife: bald eagles, terns, gulls, migrating pelicans, cormorants, ospreys, coots, diving ducks; optimum viewing of new offspring in May and June.
Great hike along the lake. Beautiful place to camp!
I think someone misplaced a decimal point. This was a ONE mile trail. I used a pedometer. The kids and I walked two loops to get two miles out of it. It was very pretty. The kids loved seeing frogs and lizards.
I live in Panola County, where Sardis, MS is located and was looking for the map so I could hike this trail - it is NOT close to Sardis, MS.........it is in Roxie, MS - about 3 and a half hours south of Sardis. This probably needs to be corrected in the overview, FYI.
Hilly, but well maintained and fun.
Quite a short little loop trail. Took less then 30 minutes. Didn't see any other trails anywhere close. A group of buzzards were a cool sight on the boardwalk portion. Could be a nice place to hang out in if the other trails were easier to find.
This is a great camping spot with challenging trails for hiking or mountain biking. Their are several trails to choose from. Starting at a 1mile track around to lake to a 12 mile track deep in the woods that might take you an hour to get to. And a few others in between. I'm looking forward to going back
