Nice park, but some background noise with cars, planes and families. There is actually about 8 miles of trails. I think the app says 3. I hiked most of the park and very much enjoyed every minute. You will weave your way through woods, prairie and along the river.
I camped in the rustic campground. Very pleasant but if you want any privacy at all, reserve Site 62. It's the only site that's not on top of everyone else.
Went on an August day, wildflowers blooming like crazy. Great easy hike, some forests and some prairie grasses. However nearby camping, swimming, and road may have been great for park recreation but were poor for some peaceful hiking.
