I hike this trail at least two times a week with my dog and whoever else comes. Nice trail to get out and hike. Bridge has been down all year though. Park says it should be back up in the fall and they are adding new trails.

The Petroglyphs main hiking trail is a loop trail and not a out and back. If you consider the entrance trail which leads to the looped hiking trail it could be considered out and back. The trail is uneven ground with two swinging bridges over parts of the Cass River. There are interpretive signs along the way telling of the Michigan forest fires, the usage of the Cass River years ago, and of local fauna and wildlife.

The petroglyphs are right off from the parking but are only open Memorial Day to Labor Day on Wednesday to Sundays from 10am to 5pm. The hiking trail is always open. Even when closed you can still see petroglyphs, just not up close. And who knew there were petroglyphs in Michigan?!
