It's a pretty basic Michigan trail - nicely shaded but not a lot to look at. A highlight is there are some walkways on the bog that are fun to walk along and feel the bounce of.
We visited yesterday for the first time and were pleased. The trails do get narrow in spots, but are overall pretty easy to navigate. Dogs welcome, on leash. The paths are well shaded, but I imagine could be buggy if the weather conditions were humid.
A bunch of trails but not always marked very well.
So many trails. I hike this park with my family or solo often. Easy to maneuver. The Marsh Trail is a great change up from hiking the traditional trail head. Lovely old pine forests, river, lake, marsh, lots of boardwalks. Really a wonderful gem here in Michigan. Wonderful hike for families.
trail to upward north is partially overgrown and difficult to navigate with some closed off areas. overall, great hike for beginners with several outhouses along the paths.
Proud Lake trails are vey easy and well marked. There is a nice simple loop around a marsh area. Also trails lead to the Huron River's edge. It's very shady and wooded.
This is also a popular X-Country Ski spot. It's rather flat so nice for beginners.
