Little Carp River Cascades is a 12.4 mile loop trail located near Wakefield, Michigan and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from May until October.
This was a challenging hike with the trail ending at the shores of Lake Superior. Some hikers choose to camp by the lake but we chose to hike out in the same day. It was tiring but very rewarding. The most challenging part of the hike is the amount of tree roots that you have to navigate over. There were long periods of time where you could not look up in fear of tripping. There are two areas of the trail where you have to cross over the river by jumping from rock to rock or if it's shallow you can walk through it and cool off your feet! One of several trails in the porcupine mountains worth doing!
