Chapel Trail Mosquito Falls Loop is a 9.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Munising, MI that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from April until October.
Several hikes are available in this area, depending on what trails you take and how long you wish to walk. Waterfalls into Lake Superior near Chapel Rock.
We did this hike in October and the colors/views were amazing!!! It was an easy hike but it is 9 miles. If it's hot take lots of water and snacks are always a good thing.
This trail for some reason is listed as easy! Starts out somewhat easy with just some ups and downs, but ends, We thought, more on the difficult side. Great trails and very scenic along Lake Superior. We did the full track. Gps said 11.2 miles. The stable flies were awful near Superior, made it hard to stop and really enjoy the beauty of it all, but we did for as long as we could. Took us 5 hours, youngest being 13. Oldest being 46. Temperature was 85 degrees. Take lots of water and wear gear that keeps the stable flies from biting. Loved this trail, great adventure.
Beautiful views took almost all day to hike but was so worth it!
Awesome views. Loved it!!
We used this app to plan our trip with our dogs from 5 hours away. Imagine our surprise when we got there and they did not allow dogs.
Very upset Alltrails.
Great trail with many things to see. several backpacking sites as well. may consider that next time. only negative was the mud. it rained heavy the night before which made some parts of the trail tricky.
Amazing fall colors and beautiful lake view
A great trail, misrepresented by the map. Of the 10.75 miles that we hiked (according to my Garmin) approximately 3-1/2 miles were along the shoreline. Beautiful!!
This hike is really spectacular... Mostly level and you are rewarded with great views so often that the hike goes by fast. The downside is that the flies are horrendous and they bite. We did this same hike last August but today, in mid July, they were really bad. Make sure you cover up. Hike this when the flies won't be out and it's a great hike.
My husband and I hiked this on our anniversary trip to Munising. We were out of shape and therefore somewhat unprepared for this 10-mile hike, but the scenery was definitely worth it. The North Country Trail part of this hike offers several incredible views of the cliffs. When you reach Chapel Beach, definitely walk the extra .3 miles to get a closer view of Chapel Rock (so worth it). Would definitely hike again, but we'd make sure to take a couple of smaller hikes shortly beforehand to be better prepared.
My new favorite hike in my new favorite National Park. Whole trail was amazing. Three waterfalls, Two spectacular beaches, unmatched coastline, great views, and pretty forest with aspen trees everywhere
Our family's favorite hike! The kids love playing in the waterfall at the end.
Hike this trail at least once every year. Awesome. Best in August after the black flies are gone.
