Williams Trail is a 3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Williamstown, MA that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible from March until October.
The Williams Trail is between 3 and 4 miles long. My GPS measured it as about 3.5 miles. If you travel counter-clockwise around the loop, the trail is close to 3 miles up Berlin Mountain and about 0.5 miles downhill. The downhill was formerly a ski slope and is quite steep near the bottom. There were lots of wild flowers on the steep portion of the trail.
There are several other trails that share paths with this loop and there are not always trail markers indicating which way to go. If you are going counter-clockwise then whenever the trail has a fork then keep taking the path on the left and if you are going clockwise then keep taking the trail on the right.
